To take advantage of your time, before or after taking the tour of Comuna 13, we recommend taking the Metrocable on the upper floor of the San Javier metro station. You can also enjoy them taking the route to Arví Park.


Arví Park

Arví Park is a large natural reserve that contains forest, biodiversity and attractions that you can enjoy.


What can you do in Parque Arví?


Hiking, cycling, bird watching, picnics, peasant markets or going to the internal parks of Comfama and Comfenalco that offer attractions inside at reasonable prices.


To get to the Comfama and Comfenalco parks, once you arrive at Arvi Park, they have free buses that will take you to their facilities.


We recommend you have a full day to get the most out of this park.

Places in the center

The center of Medellín is a mix, where cultural, gastronomic and historical elements are combined that tell the past and present of Medellín. You can do it alone or in the company of a guide, who will help you discover some treasures that you just might not be able to.

Antioch Museum

The Antioquia Museum, located on one side of Plaza de Botero, is one of the most important museums to visit in Medellín.

Berrío Park, located in the heart of the city, very close to Plaza de Botero. This square has the Basilica of La Candelaria from 1659, the first church in Medellín, its most important building. It also has important sculptures by renowned Colombian artists.

San Antonio Park

Rafael Uribe Palace of Culture

This palace, declared a National Monument, can be visited for free and stands out for its architectural and artistic beauty in its different rooms and hallways. It is located near Plaza de Botero.


Visiting hours: Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., except on Saturdays when it closes at 2 p.m.

Museum of Memory

An interesting plan to do in Medellín to learn about its tragic history of violence and drug trafficking is to visit the House of Memory, which gives a voice to the victims of the conflict around their memories and teaches not to forget the past so as not to repeat it again. .

Visiting hours: every day from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., except on Sundays when it closes one hour earlier.

Pueblito Paisa

Botanical Garden

The Botanical Garden is a green lung located in the city. Its flora is made up of native and exotic species from different habitats.


Learn from a guide all the magic that our Garden has. On Tuesdays, you can live this experience in the morning, we start at 11:00 am. On Thursdays, the tours will be at 2 in the afternoon. On Saturdays we will have two scheduled. The first at 11:00 am and the second, at 2:00 pm


To enjoy these tours, no prior registration is necessary. You just have to be very punctual in the Grandfather Tree. The approximate duration of this tour is 1:30 min.

Explora Park

Parque Explora is an interactive science museum, made up of an aquarium, a planetarium, a public experimentation workshop and more than 300 experiences.

El Castillo Museum

The El Castillo Museum is located in the El Poblado neighborhood. It offers permanent exhibitions of porcelain and crystal objects, stained glass, gobelins, antiques, paintings, sculptures, among others.

Another of the best things to do in Medellín is to take a day trip to some of the wonders that are closest such as:

Guatapé

In one of the most beautiful towns to see in Colombia, with colonial architecture, known for the zócalos that adorn the facades of its houses.

In addition to walking through the cobbled streets, in Guatapé it is essential to climb the Piedra del Peñol, a monolith more than 200 meters high, from where you will enjoy spectacular views of the entire environment flooded by the Peñol reservoir dam. The journey to get there is approximately two hours and varies depending on traffic.

Santa Fe de Antioquia
